Latest news
DISCOVER
Following a comprehensive discovery and an initial government/sector workshop, further sector collaboration for Central Intake Referral Service is on-hold to allow for internal government consideration.
Discovery continues for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Partnerships with a concerted efforts to streamline consultation and engagement for Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community.
STRATEGISE AND DESIGN
The final Homelessness complex clients design workshop saw government and sector draft core elements of a statement of needs and service delivery requirements, with the listening report from this activity available now.
Children, Young People and Family Services Program has completed the design phase with a final collaborative workshop in August exploring the draft outcomes framework and draft service delivery specifications with the listening report available now.
For raising the minimum age of criminal responsibility, collaborative design workshops have helped inform the functions of the new Therapeutic Support Panel with applications now open for Panel members. The Therapeutic Support Panel will facilitate supports for children and young people diverted from the criminal justice system when the new minimum age of criminal responsibility takes effect (from 10 years to 12 years and then 14 years in 2025). Applications close 30 October
INVEST
We are well into the first investment wave arising from commissioning activities, with new models of service delivery set to become operational by 1 July 2024. Contract extensions are being initiated across multiple sectors to support service continuity as invest phases begin or are finalised.
Six providers have been selected through the tender process for the Community Assistance and Temporary Supports (CATS)
program, with transitions underway to the new service delivery model developed through commissioning that includes extended eligibility and increased length of care.
Staged investment for Homelessness continues with new tender opportunities soon to be released for Tenancy and Property Management for Women, Youth and Families while assessment of grants for Support Services for Youth and Support Services for Older Women nearly complete.
A request for quote will soon be issued to develop a community sector costing tool as part of the Sector Sustainability Program.
Negotiations are underway with suitable service providers to expand the Health Justice Partnerships Services.
Sexually Transmissible Infections and Blood Borne Viruses (STI/BBV) and Alcohol and Other Drugs have both recently released their draft Strategic Investment Plan, receiving feedback from stakeholders with the final Strategic Investment Plan soon to be released and a grants processes to follow.
DELIVER
The first year reports from consumer and industry peak bodies representing the health and community sector highlight the advocacy and activities supporting human service reform under new and longer funding agreements activated in 2023. A report that brings together a collective perspective of the work of funded peak bodies is being developed and insights will be shared through a future sector update forum.
Ongoing engagement with Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations is underway to reduce reporting duplication and support more service delivery opportunities with the ACT human service system.
