Connect commissioning cycles to the bigger picture

Commissioning as a reform is critical to realising the aspirations of the ACT Government Wellbeing Framework and ensuring investment is aligned with verified community needs through the cyclical ACT Budget process. Many services, programs and projects that are commissioned are also linked to strategic plans and frameworks that can be national or specific to the Canberra community.

For example, the National Agreement on Closing the Gap, Capital of Equality Strategy Second Action Plan (2022-2023), Next Steps for our Kids 2022-2030: ACT Strategy to Strengthen Families and Keep Children and Young People Safe, or Accessible, Accountable, Sustainable: A Framework for the ACT Public Health System 2020-2030.

As the commissioning process matures and services enter new commissioning cycles, the integration with other government processes, frameworks, strategies, and plans will be strengthened.
