We regularly listen to the experiences of Canberrans who access services, supports, and programs.
Frontline workers, young people, and families are invited to keep sharing their lived experiences of accessing support services for children, young people and families in the ACT.
You can help by encouraging frontline workers to share their experiences or by supporting a young person or family, (including families with young children), to share their story through a simple YourSay
survey by Wednesday, 5 July 2023.
Hearing the voice of lived experience is critical to informing the design of the next Children, Young People and Family Services Program (CYFSP), co-design participants have already reflected on powerful and informative experiences including*:
- three-year-old Lily and her parents Kim and Lan who recently moved to Canberra from Vietnam.
- Jill supported by homelessness accommodation and supports for her two children.
- Aryan and Dayami and their children Jey and Mia interacting with the system when English is a second language.
- 12-year-old Sarah who was at risk of entering the youth justice system.
We continue to seek lived experiences anonymously. We will soon be releasing a listening report that will share the collective insights we have gained from both frontline workers and people with lived experience.
A big thank you to everyone who joined us for the CYFSP engagement activities over the past couple months. We have deeply valued your input to date and we will continue to release listening reports for each engagement activity on the CYFSP Commissioning page. You can check them out here.
