Youth Week

Youth Week Grants

The ACT Youth Week Grants now open.

The ACT Youth Week Grant program is available to assist groups of young people to organise events for other young Canberrans.  The grant program aims to focus on youth participation and encouraging young people to develop, implement and facilitate youth focused projects in the ACT community.

The grant program provides funding of up to $2,000.00 per applicant for innovative new projects to be delivered during 2021 ACT Youth Week from Monday 22 March 2021 to Thursday 1 April 2021.

There are many ways that an activity / event or project could be facilitated/organised, for example through:

  • building supportive connections between community members using sport, recreation, cultural and creative activities and events;
  • organising and running events;
  • increasing opportunities for young people to participate in local community events, activities and youth related causes;
  • recognising the contribution that young people make to their local communities; and
  • increasing opportunities for young people through the development of leadership skills, project management skills, networking encounters plus team work, communication and decision-making skills.

We want to hear from young people and organisations with ideas for projects, events or activities that focus on young people and their community.

Applications for the 2021 ACT Youth Week grants close at midday on Monday 18 January 2021!
