Women with Disabilities ACT (WWDACT) - a peer support and systemic advocacy group of women with disabilities who live in the ACT and region which aims to improve the lives and life chances of all women with disabilities.
Disability Legislation Rights and Advocacy
Disability Discrimination Act 1992 - the main Commonwealth legislation covering the rights of people with a disability is the Disability Discrimination Act 1992.
Human Rights and Equal Opportunities Commission - the main Commonwealth body that is charged with protecting the rights of disabled people and advocating on their behalf is the Human Rights and Equal Opportunities Commission (HREOC).
ACT Disability, Aged and Carer Advocacy Service (ADACAS) - ADACAS is the A.C.T. Disability, Aged and Carer Advocacy Service - an independent advocacy organisation helping people with disabilities, older people and their carers.
Office of the Public Advocate (ACT) - promotes and individually represents the rights and interests of people with who are not able to represent or protect themselves including Children and young people, adults with a mental illness or impaired decision making ability who require protection from abuse, exploitation or neglect.
ACT Health Services Commissioner - deals with complaints about the provision of health services and services for older people, and complaints about contraventions of the privacy principles or of a consumer's right of access to his or her health records under the Health Records (Privacy and Access) Act 1997.

National Disability Services - NDS is the national industry association for disability services, representing over 600 not-for-profit organisations. Collectively, our members operate several thousand services for Australians with all types of disability. NDS’s members range in size from small support groups to large multi-service organisations, and are located in every State and Territory across Australia.
Women with Disabilities Australia - Women with Disabilities Australia are a peak organisation for women with all types of disabilities in Australia.

Disability Coordination Office ACT and South East NSW - The Disability Coordination Office ACT and South East NSW provides information via a search engine on a variety of topics for people with disabilities and their families, including programs aim to meet various individual needs and provide recreation and social support.
Northcott Disability Services - provides support and services to individuals and families across NSW and the ACT. Services are provided across a broad range of disabilities including physical, intellectual, sensory, acquired and degenerative disabilities as well as challenging behaviours.
