The ACT Implementation Plan for the National Fourth Action Plan [PDF 1.8MB]
On 27 November 2019, the ACT Government released a local implementation plan for the fourth and final action plan that delivers on the National Plan to Reduce Violence against Women and their Children 2010-22.
The ACT Implementation Plan outlines how ACT Government will deliver on national priorities in the ACT, which includes:
- Supports for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and families,
- Responses to diverse lived experience of women and children,
- Responses to sexual violence and harassment; and
- Improving service system responses.
Many of our current ACT initiatives and funded commitments align with national priorities, such as the ACT Domestic and Family Violence Training Strategy, the Family Safety Hub and working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community to create family-centred and community-led responses.
However, the implementation plan is only part of the work we need to do in the ACT to better respond to domestic and family violence and to promote a culture of gender equality in our workplaces, schools, and all community settings.
As new initiatives and priorities emerge, our implementation plan will be refreshed to reflect the needs of the ACT Community.
