Regulation, Assurance and Quality

How we regulate ACT community service providers to protect the rights of users and ensure quality services for Canberrans who need them.

What we do

We are an independent service in the ACT Government’s Community Services Directorate. We regulate ACT organisations and individuals that provide:

  • care and protection services for children and young people
  • services for people with disability
  • community housing.

We make sure these community service providers:

  • give quality services to Canberrans who need them
  • are continuously improving
  • follow national and ACT standards and laws.

We also review unresolved complaints about these organisations and the Community Services Directorate.

Our services are handled by our:

  • ACT Human Services Registrar
  • ACT Community Housing Registrar
  • ACT Senior Practitioner
  • Community Services Directorate complaints team.

ACT Office of the Senior Practitioner
