The Child and Youth Protection Quality Assurance and Improvement (CYPQAI) Committee was established by the Director-General, Community Services Directorate to strengthen the quality of child protection policy and practice in the ACT and to foster ongoing improvement for the child protection system. The Committee was established in response to recommendations from the Review into the system level responses to family violence in the ACT.

The CYPQAI met for the first time in August 2016, and was established in response to the recommendation from the Review into the system level responses to family violence in the ACT. The Committee has linkages to with the work of the ACT Children and Young People Death Review Committee, The Domestic Violence Prevention Council, the Office of the Coordinator General for Family and Domestic Violence, the Children and Youth Services Advisory Council and other relevant bodies.
