The Directory provides a guide to key people, organisations, functions undertaken and services delivered in the ACT Government.
The Child and Youth Protection Services works in partnership with the community to provide care and protection services to children and young people, and family and community support to meet the needs of the people of the ACT. It also operates a forty bed youth detention centre and supervises young people who have been placed on a court order.

Gateway Services is located at Nature Conservation House, Corner of Emu Bank and Benjamin Way Belconnen. Provides access to information regarding Housing ACT services, to apply for social housing or rental bond loan assistance in the ACT.
Contact your Housing Manager or Client Service Officers directly regarding tenancy matters. If you do not know these direct numbers, you can receive assistance by telephoning 133 427.
Applications for housing assistance, rental rebate renewals and general correspondence may be posted to Housing ACT or via the courtesy mailbox located within the Tuggeranong Access Canberra Shopfront and the City and Phillip Health Centres.

Complaints regarding disability matters, community care and protection services and community housing sector can be directed to the Quality, Complaints and Regulation unit. The Human Services Registrar provides responsive regulation of service providers including specialist disability service providers to oversee safeguards for the NDIS.

The Office of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Affairs is the leader on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Affairs in the ACT Government, and the business unit within the Community Services Directorate that is empowered to monitor and hold business units to account on ‘Closing the Gap’. The Child Development Service provides assessment, referral, information and linkages for children 0-6 years where there are concerns relating to their development. The Service assists families who live in the ACT and have concerns about a child developing skills slower than others of the same age in areas such as, speech and language, movement, hand skills, self care, and social development.

Provision of an early intervention and prevention program for children from birth to age five and their families. The program provides a range of universal and targeted parenting information and support services, specialist clinical services, community development and community education programs. Services are delivered in partnerships with other agencies, local community organisations and service providers.

The ACT Office for Disability is responsible for supporting the Minister for Disability in the community, in the Assembly and in State/Territory forums.
The Office oversees and implements the ACT’s commitment for the National Disability Strategy 2010-2020; administers grants to improve the ability of people with disabilities to participate in mainstream community groups, coordinated and administer I Day Grants; coordinates and delivers the Connect And Participate Expo; supports the INVOLVE initiative; continues funding for peak agencies representing people with disability, carers and provides support to the Disability Reference Group.
