Future Directions: Towards Challenge 2014

Finalisation Report

Future Directions: Towards Challenge 2014 is the ACT Government’s five year policy framework in place since 2009, focusing action across the ACT Government and business, sports, arts, and community sectors, to improve outcomes and opportunities for people with disability. The priorities set out in the framework reflect what we were told needed to be improved to fulfil the vision “All people with disabilities achieve what they want to achieve, live how they choose to live and are valued as full and equal members of the ACT Community”.

We are pleased to provide the Future Directions Towards Challenge 2014 Finalisation Report. It showcases individual stories through video stories, highlights and key achievements over the last five years under the policy framework.

The Minister for Disability, Joy Burch MLA, provides an introduction to the Future Directions Towards Challenge 2014 Finalisation Report in the video below.

Thank you to all the people who contributed their time and personal accounts for the video stories. Thank you also to the organisations: Community Connections; Catholic Care; Volunteering ACT; ADACAS; Advocacy for Inclusion and the ACT Department of Education for partnering with Disability ACT to provide the programs featured in the video stories.
