New council to give stronger voice to Canberra’s multicultural communities
Nominations are now being sought from qualified individuals to join the new ACT Multicultural Advisory Council.
An ACT Government 2016 election commitment, the Council will give members of Canberra’s culturally diverse communities’ opportunities to take a leading role in participation and consultation on issues which affect their lives.
The Council will also act as a conduit to the Minister on the views of members of culturally diverse communities, while raising awareness of the aspirations, needs and concerns of culturally diverse communities, within government and the community.
Nominations open 28 February and close 28 March 2017
Applications can be submitted via email or traditional mail and will require a current CV and responses to selection criteria.
Multicultural Framework and Action Plan 2015- 2020
The ACT Multicultural Framework and Action Plan 2015- 2020 - was developed through an extensive community consultation process. It draws on the ideas and initiatives of hundreds of people across the city - everyday Canberrans as well as community leaders.
