Final Report: Review of the Domestic Adoption Process in the ACT
The Final Report: Review of the Domestic Adoption Process in the ACT was developed by the cross-directorate Domestic Adoptions Taskforce. It outlines current processes for domestic adoption in the ACT and identifies opportunities for improvement to achieve better outcomes for ACT families.
In developing the report, the Taskforce worked closely with ACT Government Directorates and members of the community to hear the views of all stakeholders, particularly the voices of people who have been adopted, birth parents, adoptive parents, carers and community organisations.
The outcomes of the Final Report reflect the ACT Government’s commitment to ensuring the best interests of children and young people are upheld and permanency options are enhanced under A Step Up for Our Kids: One Step Can Make a Lifetime of Difference 2015-2020 (Out of Home Care Strategy 2015-2020).
